Fire resistant glass although allowing light to enter, is specialist glass that is used in windows, doors and partitions to create a barrier between one area to another by slowing down the spread of smoke and flames. Its high temperature tolerance provides the safest option to protect life as well as properties.

Protection is defined in time periods of 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes.

Fire resistant glass is compulsory in certain structures, buildings and establishments. Local planning officers will recommend the correct specification required.
